Meizu has an event scheduled for October 21th at the Beijing National Convention Center and the company is expected to debut a phablet which is now reported to be the Meizu Blue Charm Metal. The device will slot in among the affordable ‘Blue Charm Series’ but will ditch polycarbonate body a more premium looking metal build.
Moving to the specs, the Meizu Blue Charm Metal will have a 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD) and is available about five colour options including Blue, Pink, Silver and White. It is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz (possibly from Mediatek with the Helio x10 in mind) paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
For photography, the device has a rear facing 13MP main camera and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies. For storage expansion there is a microSD card slot which supports up to 128GB cards. The Blue Charm Metal measures 8.2mm thin and runs Alibaba’s YunOS (YunOS 3.1.6).
There are concerns about the network reception of the device due to its all metal body build and with the device running YunOS, it is unlikely to be available outside China. There is no word on pricing, availability and the full specs; all these and more would be clearer in about a weeks time.
