Xiaomi is expected to announce it’s next flagship smartphone sometimes in the summer and the device has been confirmed to be the Xiaomi Mi5. The Mi4 divided opinion with some of their fans as some were happy with the slight specs and iPhone like design and others weren’t.
Xiaomi is however changing it’s strategy with the Xiaomi Mi5; according to information which surfaced on China’s equivalent of Twitter, Weibo; one of the Chinese tech bloggers disclosed information about the upcoming Mi5.
The Xiaomi Mi5 is expected to keep the same 5.2-inch display which will have a (2560 X 1440 pixels) Quad HD resolution. Under the hood it would be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor paired with 4GB of RAM and the main camera is a 16MP snapper with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS). The device is expected to be backed by a battery capacity which should be around 3000mAh or more. It is also said to have fingerprint technology on the home button.
Sticking with 5.2-inch display sounds logical as the company could be looking to distinct its Mi Note family of smartphones however the company could still change display size. One major talking point would be in the price aspect whether the company would stay true to its objective of selling at an affordable price or it would be priced properly to fight against the big dogs in the competition. Only time will tell.
