Thanks to an anonymous tipster, the smaller variant of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S5, the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini has been spotted on benchmarking website and the specs also leaked in pictures. The Galaxy S5 Mini has the same as the Galaxy S5, it would also feature IP67 dust and water resistance despite its uncovered port like its found on the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5 Active. It also features a fingerprint scanning home button, heart rate monitor as found on the Galaxy S5.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 mini features a 4.5-inch 720p SUPER Amoled display with Gorilla Glass 3. The device is powered by a Exynos 3 Quad chipset with a quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at 1.4GHz, Mali-400 MP4 GPU, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of inbuilt storage (expandable with micro SD card support).
Other features of the Galaxy S5 Mini includes: a 8MP camera, 2.1MP front facing camera, run on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat with Samsung’s TouchWiz UX on top as well as other software extras like Ultra Power saving mode, Kids mode, KNOX security, Private mode and others.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS with GLONASS, 3G, NFC, IR Blaster, LTE, Bluetooth 4.0.
Samsung has scheduled a press event for tomorrow in New York where it is expected to announce the Galaxy Tab S lineup, and reports says the Galaxy S5 Mini could also make its debut at the event.
