Last week Tuesday, LeEco launched the Le 1s Eco smartphone at an event in Mumbai, India. Although the device keeps most of the specs, design and features of the OG LeEco Le 1s, it is part of the company’s effort to introduce its core content ecosystem into the Indian market.
To help users decide on which one to buy or is the LeEco Le 1s worth the upgrade. Here is a quick specs comparison of both smartphones looking closely at the key hardware and software features.
LeEco Le 1s Eco vs Le 1s: Similarities
Measuring 151.1 x 74.2 x 7.6mm in dimensions and weighing 169 grams in size, both the LeEco Le 1s Eco and Le 1s sports the same scratch free metallic unibody build, a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display, pixel density of 401ppi and backed by a 3000mAh battery.
Both devices are equipped with an Octa-core Mediatek Helio X10 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage space, a fingerprint scanner, Dual SIM slots, USB Type-C port, rear facing 13-megapixel camera with ISOCELL sensor and a front 5-megapixel camera.
LeEco Le 1s Eco vs Le 1s: Differences
The major difference between the LeEco Le 1s Eco and the OG Le 1s is the presence of the LeEco Supertainment package (or the LeEco Membership Programme). The package comes free with the Le 1s Eco for a year but naturally costs Rs 490 per month and Rs 4900 annually.
With the services, member will enjoy suites of entertainment and value added services such as the Le Vidi (video on demand), Le Live (Streaming live TV), LeEco Drive (up to 5TB of free digital storage) and LeEco Music (music streaming powered by Hungama Music).
Although both devices are powered by the same Mediatek Helio X10 octa-core processor; that of the Le 1s is clocked at 2.2GHz while that of the Le 1s Eco is clocked lower at 1.85GHz. To the ordinary eye the difference might not be obvious but how this affects the overall user experience is yet to be known.
Both the LeEco Le 1s Eco and the LeEco Le 1s are priced at Rs. 10,999 but as part of the launch offer, the Le 1s Eco is currently available for a discounted price of Rs 9,999.
LeEco Le 1s Eco vs Le 1s: Verdict
Visibly the Le 1s Eco and Le 1s smartphones have more similarities than differences. Asides the difference in the clock speed of the processor and the LeEco Supertainment package, both devices are largely the same.
Personally, i’ll go for the LeEco Le 1s Eco but the Le 1s and Le Max users in India should know they can get the services via OTA update.
