Lenovo Ideapad 100 notebook is the Chromebook competitor

At the Lenovo Tech World event in Beijing, Lenovo announced the Lenovo Ideapad 100, a budget based laptop for those in need of basic features such as just surfing the Web. The Ideapad 100 laptops would be available from Lenovo.com and retail stores starting June 2015.

The Ideapad 100 runs Windows 8.1 and is available in two screen models – a 14-inch and 15-inch  versions. Both screen models use the same 200nits 1366 x 768 pixels HD display and are powered by an Intel BayTrail-M N5340 processor with Intel Graphics and options to choose up to 8GB of RAM, up to 500GB HDD or up to 128GB SSD.

Connectivity options on the includes – Bluetooth 4.0, 4-in-1 card reader, 1 x USB 2.0, 1 x USB 3.0, HDMI Out and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. There is a 0.3MP (VGA) single microphone webcam and 1.5W speaker is also onboard. 

The 14-inch version of the Lenovo Ideapad 100 measures 340 x 237.8 x 20.2mm in dimension and weighs 1.9 Kg while the 15-inch version measures 378 x 265 x 22.6mm and weighs 2.3 kg. It is backed by a 30Wh battery which is expected to last around 4 hours of usage.
