Lenovo Introduces New A540 Desktop, AND B, G AND Z Series Laptops

Lenovo has alongside unveiling the new A540 All-in-One desktop has announced several new laptops, expanding its products for business and general purposes.

The Lenovo B and G series is set to arrive in july at the cost of $399 (Around N65,000) and the Z Series will debut in May at the cost of $579 (around N95,000). We will take a closer look at the upcoming Laptops – Lenovo B50, G50, Z40, Z50 as well as the Lenovo A540 Desktop.

The Lenovo A540 AIO will feature 23.8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. Packaged in an all aluminium enclosure, the desktop PC will come with a CPU options upto an Intel Core i7, graphics up to a Nvidia GeForce GT 840, JBL speakers with Dolby Home theatre. The Lenovo A540 AIO is expected to sell at $1280 (around N210,000) and shipping starts in July, 2014.

The Lenovo B50 will feature a 15-inch display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels (which is upgradeable to 1920 x 1080 pixels). Though, B50 is a touchscreen display laptop, it would come pre installed with Windows 7, 4th Generation Core i7 processor and Nvidia GeForce 820M or an AMD A8 CPU and AMD Radeon R5 M230. The Lenovo B50 also has a DVD burner, built in fingerprint reader and Storage up to 1TB (terabytes). The Lenovo B50 is expected to arrive in July and they are expected to sell for $399 (around N65,000).

The Lenovo G50 laptop is also a touchscreen enabled laptop, it features a 1366 x 768 display, intel Core I7 processor, an AMD R5 M230 graphics chip and 720p webcam. Unlike the B50, G50 runs on Windows 8 but it also has 1TB of storage, DVD or Blue Ray Player.

No word on if the G50 will have a fingerprint scanner, but the G50 also features Lenovo’s VeriFace Pro facial recognition software, so you can log into your computer by simply staring or looking at it.

Lenovo G50 will be available only directly from Lenovo and it is expected to cost $399 (Around N65,000).

Previously announced Z40 will also be available in May, details about the Z40 was given at the CES in January say it will be powered by Intel processors. Its latest release indicates that the Lenovo Z40 and Lenovo Z50 will be powered by AMD processors.

Both the Z40 and Z50 features a Full HD display, as well as a 720p Webcam, a DVD burner, Dolby Home Theater, and AMD processor options up to the “highest performance APU processor” alongside up to the R7 Radeon graphics.

Lenovo Z40 will be available directly from Lenovo in May, while Lenovo Z50 will be available through retailers in August. Prices for Z40 and Z50 laptops is expected to start from $579 (around N95,000 upwards).

LENOVO FLEX 2
Lenovo also introduced two new additions to its FLEX family of dual mode laptops. The two version would be available in 14-inch and 15.6-inch. These laptops give users the flexibility to switch between Stand Mode and Laptop Mode.

The 14-inch Flex model will be powered by intel processors (up to Core i7) and graphics by Nvidia and the 15.8-inch model will be powerd by AMD processors (upto A8) and integrated graphics. Both models will feature 1TB of storage and 720p Webcam.

The 14-inch Flex model will cost around N70,000 ($429), the 15.6-inch model will cost around N130,000 ($799), both models of the Flex 2 Laptops will be available in June.
