Alongside the Lenovo S5, the Chinese company unveiled two new budget focused ‘K’ series smartphones – the Lenovo K5 and Lenovo K5 Play. Both models have 5.7-inch HD+ fullscreen displays with 18:9 aspect ratio, dual rear cameras, metal body frame with glass back, rear fingerprint scanner and a 3,000 mAh battery.
Lenovo K5
The Lenovo K5 is powered by the Mediatek MT6750 octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB built-in expandable storage, and boots Android 7.1 Nougat OS with ZUI 3.1 Lite. It is equipped with 13MP (f/2.0) + 5MP (f/2.2) dual rear cameras and a front facing 8MP (f/2.0) camera for selfies.
Lenovo K5 Play
The Lenovo K5 Play comes pre-loaded with Android Oreo OS with ZUI 3.7 and opts for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 430 mobile platform paired with either 2GB RAM with 16GB storage or 3GB RAM with 32GB storage. It comes equipped with 13MP (f/2.0) + 2MP (f/2.4) dual rear cameras and 8MP (f/2.0) front facing camera with Face Unlock.
Pricing and Availability
The Lenovo K5 is priced CNY 899 (USD 142) while the Lenovo K5 Play costs CNY 699 (USD 110). Both options are on sale in China with the option to choose from Black, Blue and Grey colours.
