Lenovo, at the ongoing Mobile Asia Expo in Shanghai has announced a new flagship smartphone – the Lenovo K920. The device is the first ever Quad HD display smartphone from Lenovo and packs the ability to compete against the likes of the Oppo Find 7 and the LG G3 smartphones.

While the K920 is looking likely to be a Chinese Mobile exclusive, it is rumoured will be launched internationally as the Lenovo Vibe Z2 Pro.

The Dual-SIM enabled device features a 6-inch display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels (Quad HD), powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processorclocked at 2.5GHz with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of inbuilt storage with no word on expandable storage via micro SD.

The Lenovo K920 also features a 16MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and front facing 5MP camera for video calling as well as selfies. Connectivity options on the Lenovo K920 includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB v2.0, GPS/AGPS, Bluetooth, NFC and 4G LTE/3G.

On the software side, it runs Android 4.4 Kitkat out-of-the-box with Lenovo’s proprietary UI on top.  As of now there is no word on pricing and availability outside China. But the impending purchase of Motorola Mobility could see Lenovo start shipping its phones outside the shores of China.
