Following the announcement of the metal-clad mid-range K6 Series, Lenovo has added new smartphones – Lenovo P2 and A Plus, to its line-up at the IFA 2016. As the company seems to have done away with the ‘Vibe’ name, the P2 is the succesor to the Vibe P1 while the Lenovo A Plus is basically entry-level.
Lenovo P2
Running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS, the Lenovo P2 is equipped with a sizeable 5100mAh battery with support for 24W quick charge and a fingerprint sensor in the home button. It packs a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED display and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor.
Photography is handled by a 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and 5MP front-facing camera. The battery-centric P2 is available in two models – 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB built-in expandable storage spaces. It also supports 4G LTE, NFC, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 LE, and can be used to charge other devices via OTG.
Lenovo A Plus
The Lenovo A Plus sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6580 processor paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space. It has a microSD card slot (up to 32GB), 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a front 2MP camera for selfies and video chats.
The rest of the A Plus specs includes 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth, Single/Dual SIM and a 2000mAh battery.
Pricing and Availability
Both smartphones will be available initially in Europe starting at EUR 249/EUR 299 and EUR 69 (EUR 79 for the Dual SIM) respectively. The Lenovo P2 will start shipping in November while the Lenovo A Plus will be available this month (September).
