Lenovo has officially announced the Lenovo P70, Lenovo S60 and Lenovo S90 Sisley for the Nigerian market. The trio of devices were unveiled at the Lenovo inaugural breakfast meeting with the media in Lagos on Wednesday (April 29).
Commenting on the launch, in a rather lengthy talk, Shashank Sharma, Executive Director of Mobile Business Group at Lenovo, Middle East and Africa (MEA) described Nigeria as a market with huge potentials.
“Nigeria is one of the fastest growing smartphone markets globally. With about 30 per cent smartphone penetration, the country represents huge growth potential for Lenovo. In the past one year, Lenovo has made strong progress with its Nigerian consumers.
We consider the region as a principal destination for investment, even as we continue to record robust growth in sales. Sustaining a solid in-country presence is very important to us from both social and economic standpoints. We will continue to expand our business and invest heavily in this market.
We are building on the strong relationships that we have with Nigerians by meeting their demand for smartphone with first class design, smarter features and improved functionality, with special focus on our latest range of mobile devices. Our continued organic growth and expansion puts us in a great position to maintain our momentum.
We have tremendous balance between our core business, especially a profitable PC business, and growth engines like tablets, enterprise, ecosystem and smartphones. We expect to continue to build on these strong results.”
The Lenovo P70 is heralded for its huge batter capacity, the Sisley S9 is an iphone lookalike device which comes with the selfie lovers in mind with its 8MP front camera and lastly the S60 which is a smartphone for the outgoing young peers. All three device run Android 4.4 Kitkat OS and come with Lenovo DOit apps – SHAREit, SECUREit, SNAPit, SYNCit, and SEEit gallery.
The Lenovo P70 asides it’s 4000mAh battery and around 45 days of standby time. It sports a 5-inch HD display, powered by 1.7GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM, 16GB space of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 13MP main camera, 5MP front camera, Dual SIM functionality and 4G LTE.
The Lenovo S60 sports a 5-inch HD display, powered by 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor paired with 2GB RAM, 8GB sapce of internal storage, 5MP front camera, a microSD card slot, Dual SIM functionality and 2150mAh.
Lastly, the Lenovo S90 (or Lenovo Sisley S90) comes with a 8MP front camera with LED flash making it a selfie-centric one. It sports a 5-inch HD super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm snapdragon 410 SoC, 2GB RAM, 16GB space of internal storage, a microSD card slot, 13MP main camera, Dual SIM slots, 4G LTE and 2300mAh battery.
There is no word on pricing for the Lenovo P70, S60, S90 Sisley in Nigeria; but judging by their equivalent in other countries it is expected to be price moderately.
