Lenovo WRITEit handwriting input on pen enabled Lenovo Windows tablets

The Lenovo WRITEit is one of the Lenovo DOit apps which also includes – REACHit and SHAREit. If can type it, you can WRITEit… right?.

This Windows OS based technology lets people write on their tablet with a pen instead of typing with a keyboard. It can be used in a web browser, note taking apps and most areas where an input (text field) is needed using the keyboard. This can be likened to the advantage enjoyed by some smartphones and tablets without using the normal on-screen keyboard.

The handwriting input would be an alternative to Voice and typing input and don’t worry about making mistakes as it autocorrects errors with the autosuggest feature.

This is different from the the AnyPen technology which the company debuted with the 8-inch Yoga Tablet 2 with Windows. This technology allows for writing on a tablet with the fingers as well as almost any pointed objects – including pencils, pens, screwdrivers, pocket knives, scissors, etc.

The Lenovo WRITEit is currently available on Windows 8.1 OS running pen-enabled devices from the company – Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga, ThinkPad Helix, ThinkPad 10 and 8-inch Yoga Tablet 2 (which also comes with AnyPen technology). The company says it would include support for more tablets at a later date.
