Currently LG still has the highest number of Android Wear smartwatches in the market but this doesn’t mean the company is not working on a smartwatch with its Open WebOS platform. The smartwatch with the model number LG-W120L is the birth of the collaboration between Audi and LG.
The smartwatch was showed off at the CES 2015 by Audi and the smartwatch has what it takes to unlock and control Audi Automobiles. The smartwatch has the same circular display like the G Watch R but has extra buttons on its side and will also support cellular connectivity like the Samsung Gear S which also runs a different OS – Tizen OS.
Apps such as music, dialer, email, messages, calender as well as some health related apps on the smartwatch. There is a dedicated Audi app which lets the device interact with Audio automobiles.
The LG-W120L (no final name yet) is made of stainless steel and sapphire crystal glass which points towards a very pricy tag. The water-resistant smartwatch could also feature the Qualcomm snapdragon 400 SoC. The WebOS on the device which debuted at the CES is said to be the prototype version, hopefully we will be hearing more on the smartwatch in the nearest future or maybe at the MWC 2015 in some weeks time.
