LG has today announced the LG Aka smartphones, the smartphones all have have animated eyes above the interchangeable protective panel that express different emotions. The AKa (pronounced ‘AW-Kuh’) line of smartphones.
The highlight of the smartphone is the presence of ‘eyes’ like features which connects with the user emotionally. There are four different AKA smartphones with different colours and themes:
• Eggy – Yellow (Falls in love)
• Wooky – White (a Bully)
• Yoyo – Pink (has issues with Weight)
• Soul – Black (Music Lover)
The LG AKA’s eyes changes into different colours to indicate different emotions. It also uses different facial expressions to give notifications and different usage.
Specs-wise, the LG Aka sports a 5-inch (720 x 1280 pixels) IPS display, powered by quad- core 1.2 GHz processor (unknown chpset), 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal expandable memory. On the rear is a 8 MP rear camera with laser auto focus and a 2 MP front-facing camera.
Connectivity options includes – 4G LTE, NFC, GPS, AGPS, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, USB 2.0. The device measures 138.7 x 71.9 x 9.9mm, weighs 135.5 grams without the cover case (157 grams with the case) and powered by a 2610mAh battery.
The LG Aka is currently available in South Korea for KRW 500,000 ($456) and is said to be available across three major carriers in the company. Global availability of the Aka line is not looking bring at the moment.
