LG is going the way of Samsung to also use its in-house produced chipset on a smartphone and after so many leaks in the media the said LG ODIN chip is finally ready to debut. The first smartphone to use the chipset is the LG F490L, which is codenamed Liger. Thanks to the guys at BlogOfMobile, they got their hands on a marketing brochure which contains the details of the upcoming Liger phablet including specs and the LG Odin SoC which is also called NUCLUN.
The LG Odin NUCLUN Octa-core processor has four cores clocked at 1.2 GHz and the other four cores clocked at 1.5 GHz. The higher clocked core is said to be Cortex-A15 and the lower clocked cores is said to be Cortex-A7. The LG Odin Nuclun is also said to support LTE Cat.6 with speed download rated to be 300Mbps.
The LG F490L Liger phablet has the same design as the flagship LG G3 and is said to feature most of the device’s UX feures. Specs-Wise it features a 5.9-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by the detailed octa-core LG Odin NUCLUN processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage (no mention of microSD card), a 13MP rear camera with autofocus laser, OIS and a 2.1MP front camera.
The device measures 157.8 x 81.8 x 9.45 mm, runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS, supports 4G LTE network and packs a 3000 mAh battery.
The LG F490L Liger is sure to debut in South Korea and the country’s LG U+ mobile operator would carry the device but availability in other countries is unknown at the moment.
