LG G Flex 2 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC and self healing back goes official.

As expected, LG has announced the successor of the bending G Flex smartphone – The LG G Flex 2 makes it debut at the CES 2015 and is looking to be one of the most innovative product of the year. The G Flex 2 comes with much more improved performance, more curved and is said to heal faster.

The LG G Flex 2 features a 5.5-inch P-OLED screen with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels resulting in a pixel density of 401ppi. The screen is protected by an inhouse developed glass cover which is said to be 20% more durable than the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 but I see no reason why LG could not opt for the Gorilla Glass 4. The company has also worked on the healing time – the device now heals at 10 seconds under room temperature as against three minutes on its predecessor.

The LG G Flex 2 has the honour of being the first smartphone to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SoC; with 2GB of RAM and either 16GB or 32GB space of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expansion.

It also borrows a leaf from the LG G3 in terms of camera improvement – it packs a rear 13MP camera with OIS+, Laser Auto-focus and dual-LED flash. There is also a front 2.1MP camera on-board. There is also Gesture shot feature which takes selfies by recognising a hand-gesture 1.5m away. There is also Gesture view and Glance view.

A 3000mAh battery keeps the device ticking and it also comes with fast charging option which lets the device charge quickly.

The LG G Flex 2 Runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and measures 149.1 x 75.3 x 7.1 – 9.44mm (at the thinnest and thickest spots respectively). It would be available in South Korea by the end of the month and other regions would follow suit. Platinum Silver and Flamenco Red are the available colour options.
