LG is reportedly working on the LG G Pad 2, a successor to the LG G Pad 8.3 tablet announced back in 2013. The slate is expected to go official by October 2015 which is almost two years after its predecessor.
According to Leaksfly, the LG G Pad 2 will keep the same 8.3-inch display as its predecessor with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It would be powered by the not-too pronounced but one of the most powerful quad-core SoC around – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 MSM8084 (4 x Krait 450 Cores) processor which will be paired Adreno 420 GPU for graphics and 3GB of RAM for handling tasks.
Internal storage space stands at 32GB and can also be extended by a microSD card slot onboard with cards up to 128GB (or 1TB). The G Pad 2 has a rear facing 8MP camera and a front facing 5MP camera for video chats & selfies. The slate would run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box.
The LG G Pad 8.3 was one of the most sought after tablets of 2013 which was priced moderately and packed good specs then. In May 2014, it was followed by the LG G Pad Series – LG G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and G Pad 10.1.
The LG G Pad 2 is expected to go official by October 2013, so an announcement at the IFA 20015 which is expected to take place in September is very much possible. There is no word on pricing information and availability details.
