LG has quietly launched the LG G Pad II 8.0 in South Korea; the 8-inch sized device succeeds the original G Pad 8.0 with some improvement in specs. At the moment the tablet is available only in South Korea and while there is no word on pricing, an international release could be on the cards.
The LG G Pad II 8.0 features the same 8-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 (WXGA) and has a built-in free capacitive stylus. Under the hood, it is powered by the same Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 305 GPU.
The RAM and Internal storage have been both increased to 1.5GB RAM and 32GB internal storage space. For additional storage, it is expandable up to 128GB via the inclusion of a microSD card slot. The rear camera of the G Pad II 8.0 is a 5MP snapper and the front camera is a 2MP snapper.
Running Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, the LG G Pad II 8.0 supports 3G/LTE connectivity and is backed by a 4200mAh battery. The device come with a full-sized USB 2.0 port which makes adding peripherals like external keyboards, mouse, flash drives and more without the need of an adapter.
The tablet comes with Microsoft Office apps – Word, Excel and Powerpoint, pre-loaded on it. Also found on it are the premium LG UX features such as Gesture shot, Quick Memo app, QPAIR 2.0, Knock Code and more.
