LG has released a new Android tablet in its home country – South Korea and Canada; the LG G Pad III 8.0 succeeds the LG G Pad II 8.0 from last year and comes with a number of improvements despite keeping the same screen size. It is on sale from Fido and Rodgers for CAD 240 ($184) sans contract.
Moving to the specs, the LG G Pad III 8.0 sports a 8-inch display with 1920 x 1200 pixels (Full HD) screen resolution and is backed by a considerable 4800mAh battery which promises up to 20 days standby time. It relies on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor paired along with 2GB of RAM.
The international model has 16GB built-in storage space while the Korean market model packs 32GB storage. For additional storage space, there is a microSD card slot for expansion up to 128GB/2TB. Measuring 210.7 x 124.1 x 7.9 mm in dimensions and weighing in at 309 grams, the G Pad III 8.0 supports LTE connectivity and boots Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.
The LG G Pad III 8.0 has a rear facing 5-megapixel camera with digital zoom, full-size USB port, one-Hand grip, and one-click reader mode ‘to filter blue light and lessen eye strain’.
