LG Mobiles has announced new enhanced features to enhance the capabilities of its latest flagship – the G6 and a new variant of the fore mentioned device called the LG G6+. The update, which will roll out starting next month (July), will ensure more user-friendly features and an enhanced security option.
LG G6+
The new LG G6+ is not a bigger variant of the G6 as speculated, rather it is the same device with improved features such as a bigger 128GB built-in storage space, premium headphones from B&O PLAY to take advantage of the device’s 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC and some regions will get wireless charging.
The G6+ will arrive in Optical Astro Black, Optical Marine Blue and Optical Terra Gold colours.
LG G6 Enhanced Software Update
As mentioned earlier, the LG G6 will receive a software update which will see the device receive enhanced capabilities in the form of Face Print, Low Power Consumption and Covered Lens warning. The company is also introducing two new colours for the G6: Optical Marine Blue and Optical Terra Gold.
Face Print is LG’s more convenient version of the existing facial recognition technology which allows the user quickly unlock the G6 by holding up the phone to their face, while the device also takes advantage of the built-in Low Power Consumption feature of Qualcomm Hexagon DSP architecture found in the Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile platform use by the LG G6.
The last major update – Covered Lens warning does what the name says it does. It alerts the user with a notification if any of the hand is covering the view of the wide angle lens before the shutter is activated.
