LG has began the global rollout of the LG K Series smartphones – the LG K4, LG K10 but no word yet on the LG K7 and other K Series devices yet to be officially detailed like the K5 and K8. Pricing is expected to be announced locally.
The rollout of both devices will begin at first in key global markets in the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) and Europe. The second stage of the rollout will cover markets in Latin America, Middle East and Asia in coming weeks.
Out of the duo, the LG K10 is a proper mid-range device but has the same glossy pebble body design language along with LG’s new 2.5D Arc Glass and intricately woven back cover as the other LG K Series devices (including the LG K4).
The LG K10 is available in 3G and 4G LTE models, sports a 5.3-inch HD In-Cell touch display, up to 13MP rear facing camera, up to. 8MP front facing camera, up to 2GB of RAM, either 8GB or 16GB built-in storage and backed by a 2300mAh battery.
The LG K4 on the other hand is an entry-level device but only a LTE model is available; it sports a 4.5-inch FWVGA display, 1GB RAM, 8GB built-in storage, quad-core processor, 5MP/2MP rear and front facing cameras and backed by a 1940mAh battery. It also comes with popular LG camera UX features such as Gesture Shot and Flash for Selfie.
“Affordable mass-tier phones with advanced features are becoming more and more important. Our newest K Series is designed for our consumers to experience LG’s premium design philosophy and optimized mobile experience across disparate smartphone categories,”
said Juno Cho, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.
