As expected, LG is expanding the K Series line of devices with new smartphone offerings. The LG K5 and LG K8 are the latest entrant into the LG K Series family which all range from mid-range to entry-level devices.
LG K5 (aka LG Q6)
The LG K5 slots into the low-end class with a 5-inch display size and (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA screen resolution. It relies on a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB of RAM, 8GB built-in expandable storage space, Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and a removable 1900mAh battery.
Others includes – front facing 2MP camera, rear facing 5MP camera, 145 x 71.6 x 8.9mm, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and USB 2.0. Arriving in Gold, Silver and Titan colours, the LG K5 will be available in Europe, CIS and Latin America (Mexico will get the device as the LG Q6).
LG K8 (or LG K8 LTE)
The LG K8 inherits the premium design highlighted by smooth, curved edges as a result of its 2.5D Arc Glass and woven back just as the LG K10. It sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD In-Cell touch display, powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Available in different regions – Africa, Asi, CIS, Latin America and the Middle East; the RAM size is either 1GB or 1.5GB while internal storage space can be expandable via a microSD card slot. Others includes – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB 2.0 and removable 2125mAh battery.
The LG K8 measures 146 x 71.5 x 8.7mm in dimensions and will be available in Gold, Indigo and White colour options.
