Ahead of upcoming IFA 2019 showcase in Berlin, LG has unveiled two new LG K series smartphones – the LG K50S and LG K40S. Both smartphones in question have the same 13MP selfie camera, rear fingerprint sensor, Google Assistant Button, dynamic audio with DTS:X 3D Surround Sound, microSD card slot (up to 2TB cards) and are powered by the same 2.0GHz octa-core processor.
The K50S packs a 6.5-inch 19.5:9 HD+ FullVision display, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and a 4,000mAh battery while the smaller K40S has a 6.1-inch screen with the same resolution, 2GB or 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and a 3,500mAh battery. Like most G and V series devices from LG, both are compliant with the U.S. military MIL-STD-810G standard for durability.
For photography, both Android 9 Pie-based smartphones have a primary 13MP camera with PDAF and secondary 5MP camera with super wide-angle lens. The LG K50S adds an extra 2MP depth-sensing camera for portrait shots. The LG K50S and K40S will arrive in New Aurora Black and New Moroccan Blue colours, and go on sale in Asia, Europe and Latin Asia.
