LG has announced a new wearable device, the LG KizON which is focussed mainly pre-school and primary school children. The wristband uses Wi-Fi and GPS technology help parents keep track and locate their children.

The LG KizON wristband provides real time location details which allows parents track their wards from a smartphone or a tablet. With a pre configured phone number, the kids can also call their parents with the One Step Direct Call Button. The pre-configured number can however still be changed from a smartphone running Android 4.1 and above.

The wristband also automatically connects the call from any pre-configured number if the kid does not pick up in about 10seconds and allow parent listen via the microphone. Other features of the LG KizON includes the Location Reminder which location alerts throughout the day.

The water resistant LG KizON measures 34.7 x 55.2 x 13.9mm and would be available in three colour variants: Blue, Green and Pink. The device also supports 2G and 3G network, 64MB of RAM, 128MB inbuilt storage. The KizON is powered by a 400mAh battery which has been touted to work 36hours and parents would be notified always if the battery level falls below 25%.

The LG KizON would be available July 10th in South Korea, followed by North American and European markets by the third quarter of the year. Pricing details of the launched wearable has not been announced but prices would be announced locally according to the markets it is launched.
