The last time LG had a Windows powered device was back in 2010, famous gadgets tipster @evleaks on Twitter, disclosed a press render of a LG device running on the latest Windows Phone OS, this device is dubbed the LG Uni8. It is looking likely that LG would be diversifying its mobile devices this year, after teasing consumers with a trio of tablets on tuesday.
LG shot down rumors it was working on a windows powered device after Microsoft include LG as part of the hardware partners for the Windows Phone 8.1 OS in April. There have been concerns about the Windows Phones OS powered devices after Microsoft fully purchased the mobile division and also if manufacturers would be interested.
There is little info on the device, but its is certain to feature LG’s trademark razor-thin bezels, along with on-screen navigation buttons similar to the Nokia Lumia 630.
The supposed LG Uni8 is expected to launch this year, but there is still speculation that the device might not see the light of the day. We will be keeping our ears to the ground for more info on this device. LG is expected to launch the LG G3 in an event in London on May 27.
