There has been talks of LG and Huawei handling the Nexus brand of devices this year from Google. Speculation were rife with details that one of the companies will make the tablet and the other the smartphone.
2015 is getting a twist as there would be two Nexus smartphone this year but no tablets and the Nexus 9 tablet wouldn’t have a successor until next year. LG would make the smaller handset while Huawei would make the other phablet sized device.
The LG Nexus smartphone is known internally as LG Angler; it would sport a 5-inch display and is expected to be powered by the same hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor used on the LG G4. The device is expected to be backed by a battery capacity around the 2700mAh mark (or more).
The Huawei Nexus smartphone is known internally as the Huawei Bullhead; it sports a 5.7-inch display and is expected to be powered by the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. The battery capacity is tipped at 3500mAh.
There is no official word on the existence of both smartphones but is expected to see an October launch date – a period in particular which sees the announcement of most nexus devices.
This is the first time Google is releasing two nexus smartphones in a year but there could be a catch. The Nexus 6 didn’t gain more traction as expected due to its high price, so Google could be looking to release two smartphone – one midrange and the other a little bit higher end to cater for differing user categories.
