Just days after the launch of the high-end LG V35 ThinQ in the Americas, Asia, Middle East and Africa, LG Electronics has announced the first Q series Stylus based smartphone – the LG Q Stylus. It slots in directly behind the LG Stylus 3 and arrives in three configurations: Q Stylus+, Q Stylus and Q Stylus α.
The LG Q Stylus has a 6.2-inch FHD+ 18:9 FullVision display, octa-core SoC (clocked at 1.5GHz or 1.8GHz), rear smart fingerprint sensor which also double as the selfie camera shutter button, USB Type-C 2.0 port and both IP68 (water and dust resistance) and MIL-STD 810G (military-grade) certifications.
Asides taking notes and memos, the stylus can be used to create animated GIFs from captured images and videos. The device’s display recognises and records handwritten notes even when off and the intelligent palm rejection feature ensures it recognises the palm different from the hand.
The high-end Q Stylus+ packs 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage and will arrive in three colours: Aurora Black, Lavender Violet and Moroccan Blue. Both the Q Stylus and Stylus α pack 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage, and will arrive in Aurora Black and Moroccan Blue for the former and the later only in Aurora Black.
The Q Stylus+ and Q Stylus are both equipped with a rear 16MP camera with PDAF and either 8MP or 5MP front camera with Super Wide Angle. The Q Stylus α has a 13MP camera with PDAF and front 5MP camera with Super Wide Angle. Like other V and G series smartphones, there is also QLens onboard.
There are also other highlight features such as Portrait Mode and DTS: X for up to 7.1 channel 3D surround sound. The LG Q Stylus will be available on a limited basis starting this month (June) in North America and Asia, and other key regions in Q3 2018.
