LG has introduced a new mid-range smartphone under its new Q series, the LG Q6. The line is blessed with the elegant design and comes equipped with some of the essential features of the LG G series such as the 18:9 FHD+ FullVision display with minimised bezels on the LG G6 but at a very competitive price.
Pre-loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS with the company’s LG UX 6.0 on top, the LG Q6 is available in three RAM and storage variants: the LG Q6+: 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM; the LG Q6: 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM and LG Q6α: 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM. The rest of the specifications are pretty much the same.
The Q6 family sports a unique 5.5-inch FHD+ FullVision display with minimal bezels and a 18:9 aspect ratio, making it suitable for video browsing, gaming and more. It is packaged in a sleek, stylish metallic body frame with attractive curves around the corners and very comfortable to hold and use with one hand.
The device relies on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 mobile platform and supports 4G LTE networks. Photography is handled by a rear facing 13MP standard angle camera along with a front 5MP 100-degree wide angle lens selfie camera. Power is supplied by a 3,000mAh battery.
The LG Q6 measures 142.5 x 69.3 x 8.1 mm, weighs 149 grams and has connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and USB Type-B 2.0. It also comes with features such as Google Assistant, proprietary LG Face Recognition feature and Square camera mode.
There is no official information on pricing, however, the LG Q6 will go on sale next month (August) in Asia followed by Europe, Latin America and North America. The Q6 is available in Astro Black, Ice Platinum, Mystic White and Terra Gold colours while the Q6α comes in Astro Black, Ice Platinum and Terra Gold.
The Plus model of the Q6 (LG Q6+) is available in Astro Black, Ice Platinum and Marine Blue colour options.
