Along with the familiar LG Stylus 2 and LG K8 smartphone, LG Mobile has announced an entirely new smartphone in Taiwan. The phablet sized LG Stylus 2 Plus is expected to go sale by Late June for a price tag of NT$ 10,900 (US$ 336) while the Stylus 2 and K8 will sell for NT$ 7,990 (US$ 246) and NT$ 4,490 (US$ 138).
Running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS from the onset, the LG Stylus 2 Plus sports a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display and is packed in a plastic body with aluminium frame. It measures 155 x 79.6 x 7.4 mm in dimensions, weighs in at 146 grams and is backed by a 3000mAh Battery.
Under the hood, there is an octa-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC) clocked at 1.2GHz with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space which. Is expandable up to 2TB via a microSD card slot. Photography is handled by a rear facing 16MP camera and a front facing 8MP camera for selfies.
The Stylus 2 Plus supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE (Cat.4) networks as well as standard connectivity options – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth. As expected the device is packed with a Stylus Pen and takes advantage of various pre-loaded apps such as Pop Memo, Quick Memo+, Pop Memo and Capture+.
The LG Stylus 2 Plus differs from the Stylus 2 in the aspects of screen resolution, memory and storage, processing power and the main camera. The Stylus 2 Plus has an FHD resolution, 3GB RAM/32GB built-in storage, uses the Snapdragon 430 and the the main camera is a 16MP unit while the LG Stylus 2 packs HD screen resolution, 2GB RAM/16GB built-in storage, Snapdragon 410 and a 13MP main camera.
