LG Mobiles has announced the launch of the LG U in its home country – South Korea. The new smartphone is partly based on one of the last Nexus phones released – (the Nexus 5X) and will be exclusively available via the country’s third largest mobile carrier – LG U+ for 396,000 KRW (USD 346) towards the end of the month (October).
Combining a modern retro design, high-gloss material and metal body frame, the LG U sports a 5.2-inch 1080p Full HD display and is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.14GHz along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space, exandable up to 2TB via microSD.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 13MP camera and a front facing 8MP camera. The camera has various functions like Auto Selfie, which automatically takes selfies recognising the face without pressing the shutter and Beauty Shot, which automatically brightens images.
The LG measures 147.6 x 73.2 x 7.7 mm in dimensions, weighs in at 135 grams, supports 4G LTE networks and backed by a 3000mAh battery (non removable). It doesn’t have the finger print sensor on the Nexus 5X and arrives in Black, Pink adn White colours.
