LG has announced the global rollout of the LG Watch Urbane. The smartwatch which went official at the MWC 2015 in February would be available in South Korea starting this week. It would be available later through Google Store in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Spain, UK and the US.
The LG Watch Urbane has a circular 1.3-inch Plastic OLED (P-OLED) display with 320 x 320 pixels resolution, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB sapce of internal storage. It runs on Android wear OS and is backed by a 410mAh battery.
The Watch Urbane has the looks of any traditional smartwatch and it ooze class. It has its chassis made out of stainless steel, a replaceable stitched leather strap (swap-able with 22mm silicone, metal or leather strap) and is IP67 certified (water and dust resistant). It is compatible with smartphones running Android 4.3 OS (and above).
It has Photopletysmography (PPG) sensor to measure heartbeats; LG Pulse feature which let’s it measure wearer’s heart rate every seconds during exercise and LG Call which makes it able to use bluetooth to dial calls on the smartphone.
The LG Watch Urbane would sell in South Korea for 396,000 Korean Won ($365); pricing details for other regions would be available locally at time of launch.
