LG’s new offering – the LG Wing – is the first smartphone from the company’s Explorer Project. The device has a unique form factor which features two displays – a main 6.8-inch screen (Basic Mode) and a smaller 3.9-inch screen which surfaces after the front one rotates 90o clockwise (Swivel Mode). Users can switch seamlessly to and from the Basic and Swivel modes. The company will commence sales initially in South Korea from October before moving to key markets in Europe and North America.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 5G mobile platform with the Snapdragon X52 5G Modem-RF System for 5G connectivity, the LG Wing offers a triple camera system (64MP + 12MP + 13MP) and a pop-up selfie camera which retracts when the phone sense an accident or fall. It is also equipped with Hydraulic Damper – to reduce stress to the swivelling mechanism and Thermoplastic polyoxymethylene on the back of the main screen to ensure smoother swivelling and prevent scratches on the second screen.
The phone comes preloaded with Android 10 OS and features an in-display fingerprint scanner as well as IP54 water and dust resistance, Military Grade compliance (MIL-STD 810G) and 4,000mAh battery with fast wired and wireless charging.
