LG has commenced sales of its first voice-powered smart home display – the LG WK9 XBOOM AI ThinQ. It is now on sale in the US for an initial price of $200 until the end of November (will eventually sell for $300).
In one way or the other, the LG WK9 XBOOM AI ThinQ has similar features as the Google Home Hub, Lenovo Smart Display and JBL Link View. It has a 8-inch (1200 x 800 pizels) HD touchscreen display, 5MP built-in camera for video calls and two 20W front facing speakers tuned by MERIDIAN Audio for premium sound.
LG’s partnership with Google means the smart display is powered by Google Assistant and comes pre-loaded with Android Things OS, Google Photos, Google Play, Google Duo, Chromecast, and other Google products.
As expected, it works well with Google Home compatible devices and also compatible with a wide range of apartment LG ThinQ range of products. Availability in other markets outside the US will be announced at a later date.
