South Korean Firm, LG is reported to be launching a hybrid tablet device next year which will function standalone as a tablet and used as a laptop with a detachable keyboard.
The model is expected to feature a better and longer battery life, Solid State Drive for portability sake and will be powered by Intel’s fourth-generation core processor. The company will be borrowing a leaf from the Surface Pro 3 by incorporating a touchpad system on the keyboard.
LG is said not to be impressed with its two current tablets lineups as sales are considerably lower than smartphone sales. LG launched the Windows 8.1 OS powered Tab-Book in 2013; it is a hybrid 11.6-inch PC which could also be used as tablet or laptop. The Tab-Book had a slide-out QWERTY keyboard under the touchscreen of the device, which appeared when users pressed a button on the side of the Tab-Book. The South Korean tech giant refreshed the Tab-Book line this year and switched from Windows 8.1 operating system for Android 4.2.
There is no confirmed pricing nor availability details concerning the tablet but it is heavily tipped to debut at the CES 2015 or in time for summer by waiting for the release of the Windows 10 OS.
