LG Mobiles has teamed up with US carrier, AT&T to exclusively announce the LG X venture. The rugged, durable smartphone is IP68 and MIL-STD 810G (Military) certified for shock, water and dust resistance. It is available starting May 26 on AT&T Next for $11 a month for 30 months with eligible services.
Backed by a long lasting 4,100mAh battery with fast charging feature, the LG X venture sports a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass, metal body frame, fingerprint sensor (home button) and an integrated widget for watching streams from DIRECTV.
Photography is handled by a rear facing 16MP camera and a front facing 5MP camera with 120-degree wide angle lens. On the inside, the device runs Android 7.0 Nougat OS and relies on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor with 2GB RAM and packs 32GB built-in expandable storage.
The LG X venture has physical buttons and a side button called QuickButton, which basically launches LG’s Outdoor Essentials app. This bundles a number of tools and features for lovers of outdoors such as exercise tracker, flashlight, barometer and compass. Double tapping on this button activates the ‘Glove Mode’ on the screen.
The X venture will also be available in parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America in coming weeks. Pricing and date of availability will be announced locally.
