LG Mobiles has officially announced the LG K8 (2017) as the LG X300 in South Korea. The mid-range offering is expected to go on sale tomorrow (January 18th) for a price tag of 253,000 Korean Won (US$ 215) and will be available through mobile carriers – LG Uplus (LG U +), KT and SK Telecom.
Moving to the specifications, the LG X300 has a 5.0-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD LCD display, rear facing 13MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera. It relies on a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 (MSM 8917) processor and boots Android 7.0 Nougat OS out-of-the-box.
Unlike the K8 (2017), the X300 arrives with a fingerprint sensor, measures 7.9mm thick compared to 8.09mm and the RAM has been bumped up to 2GB from 1.5GB. Internal storage space sits at 16GB and a microSD card slot is available for expanding further to 32GB.
The LG X300 supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks, and is backed by a 2500 mAh. It will arrive in either Dark Blue or Silver colour options.
In related news, LG is expected to release the LG G6 on the 10th of March after showcasing it at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017. The device is expected to have a 5.7-inch (2880 x 1440 pixels) QHD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, waterproof and dustproof, Q Voice assistant, wireless charging function and a price tag between 700,000 KRW ($583) and 800,000 KRW ($666).
