South Korean device maker, LG has announced the launch of a new battery-centric smartphone – the LG X500. The device, which is said to be the South Korean variant of the LG X Power 2, is priced at KRW 319,000 (US$ 285) and will go on sale this Friday (June 9th) through the country’s three mobile carriers.
The LG X500 draws its power from a 4,500mAh battery, which is expected to provide up to 18 hours of internet browsing or 20 hours of video playback on a single charge. It also supports fast charging (i.e the battery goes from 0 to 50% in 1 hour and fully charged (100%) in two hours.

The smartphone features a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, 1.5GHz octa-core Mediatek MT6750 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage (expandable up to 2TB via microSD), rear 13MP camera with LED flash, and front 5MP camera with soft LED flash and wide-angle lens for selfies and video chats.
The LG X500 supports 4G LTE connectivity as well as Dual SIM, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm audio jack and USB 2.0. It measures 154.7 × 78.1 × 8.4mm, weighs 164 grams and boots Android Nougat OS.
