Motorola has announced the list of Motorola smartphones to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update; the company on its official blog announced the list of eligible devices to get the current latest Android OS in coming weeks.

• 2015 Moto X Play
• 2015 Moto G (3rd gen)
• 2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the US (2nd gen)
• 2014 Moto X in Latin America, Europe and Asia2 (2nd gen)
• 2014 Moto G and Moto G with 4G LTE2 (2nd gen)
• DROID Turbo
• 2014 Moto MAXX
• 2014 Moto Turbo
• Nexus 6
The list released by Motorola doesn’t include the Motorola Moto E 1st gen, Moto E 2nd Gen, Moto G 1st gen and Moto X 1st Gen but that could change once the updates start seeding to the above listed eligible devices.
While Motorola (now a Lenovo owned company) worked on the Nexus 6 last year, this time around Google worked with LG and Huawei to deliver the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P smartphones running Android 6.0 Marshmallow and coming with features such as Doze Mode, Now on Tap, Direct Share, Simple volume controls and Android Pay.
Motorola has announced some changes to Moto Enhancements which would see the removal of Moto Assist but will be replaced with a ‘Do Not Disturb’ under the ‘Sound and notification’ settings. Motorola Migrate and Google Chrome extension found in Motorola Connect have also been retired.
