Logitech has announced the first ever third-party keyboard for the largest iPad yet – the Apple iPad Pro and the company’s best iPad keyboard ever called CREATE. The Logitech CREATE keyboard case will be available at the same time as the iPad Pro in the US and select countries in Asia and Europe.
Logitech says it worked closely with Apple to design the CREATE keyboard case. The 12.9-inch Apple iPad Pro was announced with the Smart Keyboard which uses the iPad Pro’s Smart connector. Forthcoming accessories from Apple itself and other sources will uses the same connector.
Logically, the Logitech CREATE Keyboard case make use of this smart connector so it never needs charging. The keyboard has a full-size layout and with a direct magnetic connector onboard instead of bluetooth, it connects automatically to the slate when placed in a typing position.
Commenting on the official blog, vice president of mobility at Logitech, Michele Hermann said,
“Logitech is the world leader in iPad keyboards, and we’re introducing the Logitech CREATE Keyboard Case – developed together with Apple – to enhance and perfectly complement the iPad Pro. With a full size keyboard designed to work with iOS 9, the Logitech CREATE will help make the iPad Pro a creativity and productivity powerhouse. Even the color and finish of the keyboard are meticulously crafted to feel and look like the other half of your iPad Pro.”
There is no word on pricing yet but it is likely the CREATE costs less than the the Apple Smart Keyboard ($169) but not likely lesser than the USD$100 mark.
