HP has announced two affordable low-cost Windows 8.1 tablets obviously with Intel Atom Soc which will be available in the falls (November). Both Windows tablets would be available in the U.S at a starting price of $99.99 (around N16,000 and N17,000 in Naira) for the Stream 7 and $149.99 (around N25,000 and N26,000 in Naira) for the Stream 8.
Asides the screen display size, 7-inch for the Stream 7 and 8-inch for the Stream 8. Both device basically sport the same specs and features. You’ll get a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, powered by Intel Atom Z3735G processors, 1GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of internal storage but no mention of a microSD card slot.

Other features includes – Bluetooth 4.0, stereo speakers, micro USB, no HDMI port, one-year free subscription to the Microsoft office 365 personal, 1TB of OneDrive cloud storage. The stream 8 would also come with 200MB of Free LTE data for life.
Users might point out the device lacks microSD card and a HDMI port for video output; being a low cost both devices look more than capable. The HP Stream 7 ($99.99) is looking set to dethrone the Toshiba Encore Mini ($120) as the cheapest Windows tablet available in the US.
Tablets like the Pipo Work W4 ($81) and Pipo Work-W2F ($112) both have what it takes to rival the Stream 7 and Stream 8 Windows tablets but since they have a very little chance of making way to the US market, the Stream 7 and Stream 8 is definitely expected to thrive well.
