Judging by the way Samsung names it devices, you get to know mostly from their Code names. A low end Samsung SM-J100F has been spotted via benchmark listing; making us suggest that Samsung is looking to really diversify its lineup and we could definitely have a ‘Galaxy J’ series of device coming soon.
Unsurprisingly, the online community already derived that the recently revealed A series smartphones would carry ‘Galaxy A’ name from their various codenames – Galaxy A5 (SM-A500), Galaxy A3 (SM-A300) and Galaxy A7 (SM-A700).
Whenever a device is put through its paces at the benchmark, some ofits basic specs are revealed and the Low-End Samsung SM-J100F is no different. It is expected to feature a 4.8-inch 800 x 480 pixels resolution touchscreen display (pixel density – 194ppi), powered by a 64-bit enabled Quad-core Marvell PXA1908 (ARMv7) Soc which clocks at 1.2GHz with Vivante GC7000UL GPU and 1GB of RAM. Internal stroage is set at 4GB of which only 2.2GB is accessible by users.
Camera wise the SM-J100F has a 5MP front and rear camera; both cameras are capable of 1080p video recording. Connectivity options on the device has not been detailed, the SoC used on this device supports 4G LTE Cat.4 so expect the device to take advantage of it.
The Samsung SM-J100F has standard suites such as GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0; a host of sensors including Barometer, Gyroscope and light sensor; runs on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS with Samsung TouchWiz UI ontop. The device has to be lowly priced to really attract the necessary attention and is tipped for a early 2015 release date. We just have to wait and see how this pans out.
