LTE-Enabled Kyocera Hydro Air goes official in the US with Waterproof Case and Android 5.1

Leading mobile carrier in the US, AT&T and Kyocera has announced a new smartphone – the Kyocera Hydro Air. It will be available in the US on AT&T’s GoPhone prepaid mobile services for an off-contract price tag of $99 (with free shipping), exclusive to Walmart.

Talking about the specs, the Kyocera Hydro Air has a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels (qHD), powered by a 64-bit quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 306 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage space. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 32GB. 

The Single SIM (Nano SIM) enabled device has a front facing 2 megapixels camera for selfies and video chats; and a rear facing 5 megapixels main camera with LED flash. Connectivity options on the Hydro Air includes – Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, micro USB 2.0 and 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4 – up to 150Mbps download speeds).

The Kyocera Hydro Air has a waterproof case which lets it resist water up to 1 metre for 30 minutes but we won’t advice you. To take the device swimming. It is also said to have the military standard M810G certification to survive very harsh weather conditions including shocks and vibrations. 

It measures 143.8 x 72.8 x 10.9mm in dimensions, weighs 147 grams and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. It is backed by a 2300mAah battery with energy saving features (EcoMode with MaxiMZR) and guarantees up to 15 hrs of talk time and 24 days of standby time.
