Reliance Retail has announced the launch of a new LYF F series smartphone in India. The LYF F1S joins the LYF F1 and LYF F1 Plus smartphones, boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and has 4G VoLTE support. It is priced at Rs. 10,999 (US$ 162) but a Rs. 500 (US$ 7) JioMoney Cashback also applies.
Available in Black, Gold and Silver colours, the LYF F1S sports a 5.2-inch IPS display with 2.5D curved glass, 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) screen resolution & Corning Gorilla Glass protection. It uses a metal body, Hybrid Dual SIM slots (micro + Nano/microSD) and boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.
The device relies on a 3000mAh battery with support for fast charging and an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 64-bit processor with Adreno 510 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage (up to 128GB via microSD card slot). It is equipped with an USB Type-C port and supports 4G VoLTE.
In the imaging section, there is a rear facing 16MP camera with dual-tone LED flash alongside a front facing 5MP camera with LED flash. The LYF F1S measures 148 x 73.1 x 7.7 mm in size and weighs in at 146 grams but lacks a fingerprint sensor.
