Reliance Retail has announced a new mid-range smartphone in the Lyf water series with Voice over LTE (VoLTE). The new smartphone – the Lyf Water 8 sports a 5-inch AMOLED display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution and is backed by a 2600mAh battery.
On the inside, the device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz with Adreno 405 GPU for graphics, 3GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space which is expandable up to 128GB via the microSD card slot.
In the imaging segment, there is a rear facing 13MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera with LED flash for brighter Selfies in low light conditions. It has a metal body frame with glass back, measures 142 x 70.5 x 7.0 mm in dimensions, weigh in at 122 grams and packs Hybrid Dual SIM slots with the second SIM slot acting as a microSD card slot.
The Lyf Water 8 supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks as well as V0LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. One notable setback is the device still runs the dated Android 5.1 Lollipop OS. It however is available in Black and White colour options and is priced at Rs. 10,999 ($164 USD).
