It is very hard to keep track of the current number of LYF series devices in the Indian market right now, however we do know that three more devices have been added to that list. Along with the LYF F1 and LYF F1 Plus; Reliance Retail has quietly commenced sales of the LYF Water 9 phablet.
Reportedy based on the Haier Esteem V4, the LYF Water 9 sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD 2.5D Curved glass display, boots the dated Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS with (update to Marshmallow promised in due time) and backed by a 2800mAh battery, that is expected to last up to 115 hours on standby and up to 10 hours of talk time.
On the inside, the device is equipped with a Mediatek MT6753 octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz along with 2GB of RAM, 16GB built-in storage (out of which about 12GB only available to the user) and a microSD card slot for additional storage when required (up to 32GB).
The Dual SIM LYF Water 9 packs a rear 13MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash along with the front facing 5MP camera for selfies. It supports 4G with VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and is priced at Rs. 8499 (US$ 127.40). For that price tag, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, Coolpad Note 5, LeEco Le 1s Eco, Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus are even more competent options to explore.
