Mazda has announced the Mobile Start app, a new mobile app with different remote control vehicle features amongst others. The service in total costs $500 to start using, can be purchased at Mazda dealerships and it involves an annual subscription fee of $65.
For that huge amount, what does the Mazda Mobile Start app does? Well, it allows you start as well as stop the engine of your car remotely from around or distance. Once the
car is on, it is placed on a 30 minutes timer and would automatically shutdown once the timer lapses.
Also during the 30 minutes stint the engine runs, the last defrost setting and last climate setting the car undergone the last time would be the same as the current. However the app doesn’t allow for remote climate manipulation.
Other features of the Mazda Mobile Start app includes – it can lock and unlock the car doors, detect the location of the car using the car finder feature and sound up the car’s alarm once the panic button is pushed.
At the moment, the Mazda Mobile Start app is only compatible with the Mazda 6 sedan and CX-5 crossover 2016 models with automatic transmission. Mazda would reportedly add more models are expected to bt added this year. The app is currently available for Android and iOS devices on their respective stores.
