Mediatek has announced the launch of two new mobile processors in the Helio series – the Helio X23 and Helio X27. Both entrants to the Mediatek Helio X20 family succeeds the Helio X20 and Helio X25 processors and have better camera quality, low energy use and all round performance when compared.
Both the Mediatek X23 and Helio X27 use the same Tri-Cluster Deca-core architecture as the Helio X20 and Helio X25 but the CPU cores and Graphics are clocked slightly higher. The Cortex-A72 cores on the Helio X27 are clocked at 2.6GHz while that of the Helio X23 clocked at 2.3GHz.

The duo have the ARM Mali-T880 MP4 GPU (clocked at 785MHz and 875MHz respectively), supports up to 4GB 2x LPDDR3 800MHz RAM, use MediaTek CorePilot 3.0 technology, and fully support dual camera photography with the upgraded MediaTek Imagiq image signal-processing solution.
Both also use MiraVision EnergySmart Screen power-saving technology that effectively delivers up to a 25% reduction in display power consumption and Envelope Tracking Module that provides further power-efficiency (up to 15% reduction in power consumption during peak output).
Both the Mediatek Helio X23 and Mediatek Helio X27 are expected to be available in devices soon.
