Alongside the existent Helio P23 SoC, Mediatek presented a new mobile chipset – the Mediatek MT6739 at the India Mobile Congress 2017 in Delhi. The high-speed quad-core SoC is targeted at entry-level and mid-range 4G smartphone users in India’s rapidly growing 4G market.
The MediaTek MT6739 is 64-bit processor with 4x ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked up to 1.5GHz and the PowerVR GE8100 GPU clocked up to 570MHz. It features advanced WorldMode LTE Cat.4 modem and support dual SIM dual Standby and dual VoLTE feature with either 4G + 4G or 4G + 3G combination.
Mediatek’s TAS 2.0 smart antenna technology is also onboard to ensure the connectivity experience remains consistent. The chipset also includes new connectivity technologies such as eMBMS, HPUE and 600MHz LTE frequency and supports dual camera photography as well as 18:9 display with 1440 x 720 pixels HD+ screen resolution.
By the end of 2017, a handful of Mediatek MT6739 and Helio P23-enabled devices will be available in India and the global market.
