Omate started their first ever smartwatch, the Omate Truesmart Smartwatch on Kickstarter crowd funding website as at August 2013. The smartwatch manufacturer company has announced a new addition to the company’s X series of device with the “Omate X” dubbed the companion smartwatch.
The Omate X features a 1.54-inch TFT LCD curved display with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels. The device does not support Sim cards, does not run on Android Wear but the company is workingon bringing Voice support to the device.
The Omate X will show alert for incoming calls, weather information, wallpaper, clock, music control messages, reminders, and social media update notifications. The smartwatch works perfectly on Android 4.3 devices upwards & iOS 6 devices upwards via Bluetooth 4.0 LE. The device has been equipped with a 400mAh battery which provides juice up to a week of extensive usage.
The Omate X smartwatch would be available for pre-order starting September 1 and would run through till September 30th for a price tag of $129 (N21,000 in Naira) but shipping is starting by October. The first set of 1000 pre orders will be engraved with “Early Bird / Limited Edition” serial edition.
