It can serves as an emergency back-up electricity supply and for area where are prone to electrical outages (e.g Nigeria) it can serve as an alernative to power supply.
Two model of the Tesla Powerwall are available – a 7KWh daily and a 10KWh weekly cycle; for homes where much more is needed up to Nine more can be installed. It comes with 10 years of guarantee with an option to extend another 10 years. The average powerwall weighs almost 100Kg (200 pounds) and measures about 18cm deep.
The 7KWh daily model which is recommended for daily use costs $3,000 and the 10KWh model which is recommended as a back-up power source costs $3,500 ($350 per KWh). Additional costs would be incurred when Solar panels or AC-DC inverter (about $4000) are purchased; whilst also not forgetting the cost of installation.
