Kobo has announced the Aura H2O, waterproof ebook reader with IP67 rating – i.e it is dust resistant as well as water proof (can last up to 30minutes under a meter of water). The Aura H2O is more or less a waterproof version of the Aura HD eBook reader.
The Kobo Aura H2O features a 6.8-inch (1430 x 1080 pixels) Carta E-Ink HD multi-touchscreen resulting in a pixel density of 265ppi. Under the hood is a 1GHz processor, 4GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB. Only the Micro USB and Wi Fi 802.11 b/g/n are connectivity options on the Aura H2O.
There are Kobo apps for tablets, desktops and phones which synchronises bookmark between the reader and your device, which means you can always continue whatever you are reading anywhere.
The exact battery capacity of the device was not stated but is stated to last up to 2 months; based on 30 minutes of reading a day with Comfort Light turned on or off, and Wi Fi turned off.
